Trends in Microscopy (TiM) - GerBI-GMB spring school

The conference series “Trends in Microscopy” (TiM) was initiated by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2005 and has since then taken place approximately every other year in Freiburg, Ulm, Bonn, New York, Berlin, Braunschweig, Würzburg, Freiburg, Dresden, and Düsseldorf. It addresses German and international researchers who work in the field of light and electron microscopy on both, development of instruments and methods as well as novel applications, and provides a company exhibition area. In 2016, TiM was for the first time co-organised by the German BioImaging Network, and is since 2018, the biennial meeting of the by then newly founded “German BioImaging – Gesellschaft für Mikroskopie und Bildanalyse e.V.” (German BioImaging – Society for Microscopy and Image Analysis, GerBI-GMB).

In 2020 TiM changed format! The TiM-GerBI-GMB Spring School is now an intense microscopy training camp, taking place in Münsingen on the Swabian Alb. For impressions, see video below!

TiM is now an intense microscopy training camp offering hands-on workshops and scientific talks from distinguished guest speakers. The program also covers fundamentals of optics and practical sessions on image analysis. The conference takes place at Albgut – Altes Lager in Münsingen on the Swabian Alb in Germany. Participants will reside at the conference site, a nicely renovated ancient military base immersed in the unspoiled landscape of the Biosphere Reserve Swabian Alb, for the whole week.
